CRISES AT MIDLIFE

TAKE THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED BY..IT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE

A FEW YEARS AGO,

life took an unexpected turn, and a massive "No Through Road" sign has appeared on the path I've always traveled. Like many other people during the pandemic, my world has been upended, leaving me overwhelmed and uncertain about the future. However, in times of confusion and doubt, I've found solace in taking a solo trip to get lost, really lost. It's during these journeys that I find myself and gain clarity amidst the unfamiliar surroundings. Now, as I face the reality of getting divorced, I am once again embarking on a journey into the unknown. I may not know the way, but I trust the familiar voice within that guides me to a new, unexpected path.

The Journey of Self-Discovery

Throughout my life, solo trips have been my refuge during times of uncertainty. From the moment I leave home, I feel the pulse quicken and my imagination take flight. In the midst of unfamiliar sights, sounds, and smells, I find a clear definition of myself starting to emerge. It is in these moments of solitude that I become acutely aware of who I truly am and what truly matters in my life. With sharpened focus, I listen to that still small voice, calling me home by another way.

EMBRACING THE UNKNOWN:

The journey of getting divorced is not one I had ever anticipated or prepared for. It is a new, unexpected path that I am now asked to travel. Fear and uncertainty grip me as I venture into the unknown. But amidst the turmoil, I recognize the voice that has guided me through life's trials before, and I have learned to trust it more.

Finding Calm and Clarity

In this tumultuous time, I seek a place of calm, clarity, and peace. Amid the chaos of modern life, I quiet the noise and distractions to contemplate the meaning and purpose of my new journey. As I navigate the complexities of getting divorced, I wonder if it is not the road diversions that are wrong, but rather the course I've been on all along. Perhaps, this detour will lead me to an unforeseen destination that aligns with my true self.

Mid-Life Reflections

Mid-life is a time when our foundations may feel less secure than we once thought. It's a phase that can throw us off course, challenging our beliefs and priorities. However, what if this deviation from our expected path is an opportunity for growth and self-discovery? What if it's the road less traveled that will lead us to a profound transformation.

As I journey through the unknown terrain of getting divorced, I find comfort in knowing that I've taken the road less traveled before. Though I'm still a long way from home, I trust the familiar voice that guides me, even in uncertainty. It is through embracing the unexpected detours and allowing myself to get lost that I discover the true essence of who I am. So, as I navigate this new normal, I embrace the road less traveled, believing that it will make all the difference.
